........and since when did the feelings of a slave make any difference?

If taking a trip pleases Mistress, a slave shsould prostrate itself in the dirt before Her to make Her trip a little easier as She leaves, then kiss Her footprints on the path when She has passed and wish Her every happiness. Then if She is pleased to return, Her slave will welcome Her back with grateful groveling and a determination to serve Her with even greater devotiion.
